The practice concentrates on one region: the nose and sinuses. The three operations are set out below, with the setting, the referral pathway and the OHIP position stated for each.

Appearance & Function
Surgical reshaping of the nose (refining a dorsal hump, a drooping or bulbous tip, asymmetry or post-injury changes), with the airway respected throughout. Where a functional problem exists, it can be corrected in the same operation as a septorhinoplasty.

Straightening a deviated septum to restore nasal airflow. It is performed through the nostrils, with no external incisions and no change to the outward shape of the nose. Frequently combined with turbinate reduction where both narrow the airway.

Reopening the sinuses' natural drainage pathways when chronic sinusitis, with or without nasal polyps, hasn't responded adequately to medical therapy. Advanced and skull-base cases are performed with the McMaster Skull Base Group in Hamilton.

All three are performed under general anesthesia in a hospital operating room rather than in an office, usually as day surgery. More than one can be carried out in a single operation where that is appropriate, and the parts are assessed and explained separately. One System
A patient who dislikes the shape of their nose often can't breathe well through it. A patient with recurring sinus infections often has a septum that never let the sinuses drain. These are not three unrelated problems; they are one anatomy, described three ways.
Because Dr. Khetani's subspecialty covers the whole region, the assessment doesn't stop at the reason you were referred. If your breathing complaint has a cosmetic dimension you'd like addressed, or your cosmetic goal is limited by an internal problem, that conversation happens once, with the surgeon who would perform both.

The practice's present focus is surgical care of the nose and sinuses. Where a non-surgical option is genuinely the better answer for what you want to change, it remains available and is discussed openly.
