What Is Seen Here

One region, in depth.

Most otolaryngologists cover the whole of the ear, nose and throat. This practice’s surgical work concentrates on the nose and sinuses, and the office also sees hearing loss and tinnitus.

The blocked nose

Deviated septum, enlarged turbinates and other causes of nasal obstruction, assessed with examination and nasal endoscopy, treated from medication to septoplasty.

Sinus disease

Chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps: medical therapy first, then endoscopic sinus surgery or biologic treatment where indicated.

Smell, shape & hearing

Loss of smell, rhinoplasty where appearance and breathing are planned together, and hearing loss and tinnitus, assessed at the Burlington office.

What Is Not Offered Here

And where those concerns should go.

The practice does not offer surgery for children, head and neck cancer surgery, or sleep surgery for snoring and sleep apnea. Those belong with a paediatric otolaryngology service, a head and neck oncology team or a sleep surgery service, and the fastest route is the same one that leads here: ask your physician or nurse practitioner to refer you, naming the concern, so the referral goes to a service that provides that care.

A recent broken nose is seen through the emergency department at Joseph Brant Hospital rather than by office referral.

If you are unsure whether another ear, nose or throat concern fits the practice, the office can say before the referral is sent: (905) 639-2244.

Getting Seen

How to be referred.

An OHIP-insured assessment begins with a referral from your physician or nurse practitioner, faxed to (905) 639-2253. The office contacts you directly once it arrives to arrange the consultation. For cosmetic rhinoplasty, no referral is needed — consultations are requested directly at (905) 639-2244. The two pathways, step by step.
